BlueArc Academy educational offerings enable participants to more quickly and effectively take advantage of the capabilities and performance of the BlueArc Titan and Mercury network storage systems. Working with real world systems and situations, attendees learn the concepts and principles underlying the use of the systems, and then gain practical experience through hands on hardware and software labs. Courses cover installation, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, optimization, and service.

Standard courses

Standard courses are regularly scheduled at our BlueArc education facilities in San Jose, California. Our standard courses cover: routine and advanced system administration, system installation, configuration, and maintenance, performance; troubleshooting, and a number of advanced storage topics.

Onsite Education

BlueArc can deliver education tailored to your business and technology needs. BlueArc education specialists will work with you to evaluate your application requirements, staffing, facilities, and equipment; and, then tailor content to your business needs. The education is optimized to address the content your team needs be effective in your environment.

Custom Education

BlueArc can work even more closely with you to analyze your use of the BlueArc storage system and develop education custom to your needs. By evaluating your system implementation plans, assessing your needs for load balancing, performance, failure recovery, and other characteristics, our technical staff will develop and deliver content uniquely applicable to your system use.

eLearning Education

The BlueArc Academy can deliver education to you at your convenience by offering eLearning courses that fit your needs. Our eLearning courses are delivered via our Learning Management System and are available to you for up to 1 year after the purchase date. You will be able to access the eLearning courses anywhere at any time and can replay them at your leisure. This is a great way to get the education you need without the travel expenses.

Course Descriptions

BlueArc System Administration

This course provides a thorough education for effective operation of BlueArc storage systems. Instruction covers the technology underlying the system, the hardware and software architecture, the virtualization framework, and setup and maintenance of routine operations using the CLI and GUI. This course is helpful in setting up and operating BlueArc Titan and Mercury server systems when used on a routine and daily basis.

This course is intended for system administrators within end user customers, BlueArc strategic and channel partners.

BlueArc System Advanced Administration

This course provides extended insights into the operational characteristics of BlueArc Titan and Mercury server systems. Attendees will learn advanced concepts, and apply them in the class to optimize the performance of the system for their particular applications.

This course is intended for customers who have had systems installed for a minimum of six months and would like to optimize the use of their systems. The course is also recommended for BlueArc business partners who will be implementing the more advanced features and software who want to improve their skills in the design and architecture of system deployment.

BlueArc Installation and Service

This course provides detailed instruction and practice for tasks involved in installing and configuring new Mercury server systems and storage devices. The course covers the five phases of system sales and installation, including: pre-sales, pre-installation preparation, hardware installation, system configuration, and service enablement. Installation, system configuration, and service enablement. Installation procedures include single server, multi-server, and cluster configurations.

This course is intended for BlueArc strategic and channel partners who will perform their own system installation and maintenance. This course is required for approval for partners to install and configure BlueArc Mercury systems. Customer may also attend this class.

BlueArc Mercury Quick Start System Installation

This course provides detailed instruction and practice for tasks involved in installing and configuring new Mercury server systems and storage devices. The course covers the five phases of system sales and installation, including: pre-sales, pre-installation preparation, hardware installation, system configuration, and service enablement. Installation, system configuration, and service enablement. Installation procedures include single server, multi-server, and cluster configurations.

BlueArc System Troubleshooting Foundations

The Troubleshooting and Diagnostics course provides detailed instruction and lab activities using simulations and procedures necessary to identify and remedy software and hardware issues. Attendees learn to isolate problems in system settings, on the public or private network, in the storage, or on the server. This course is an excellent next-step to ensuring optimal system uptime and performance, and to resolving problems and performance issues with the BlueArc Titan and Mercury server systems.

This course is intended for customers who will perform troubleshooting and diagnostic work on their own systems. This course is also designed for BlueArc strategic business partners and channel partner who required skills growth that allows them to provide L1 support directly to customers with an improved escalation process directly with BlueArc.

BlueArc Academy Facilities

BlueArc Academy uses advanced equipment and technology to optimize the learning environment. Working with up-to-date computers, storage, switches, and BlueArc Titan Servers, the participant gets hands-on experience and with real-world systems.

Course Registration & Payment Policies

Students may register for technical education as part of their initial system purchase, working with the BlueArc account team or can purchase directly. Payment for all education courses are due no later than ten (10) business days prior to the course start date. Failure to submit payment will result in being cancelled from the course offering. Participants may register for classes at any time up to five (5) business days prior to the start date of the course and must provide payment at that time subject to seat availability. Customer Cancellation Policy

Students may cancel their registrations by contacting the BlueArc Academy to cancel or reschedule their training.

Students may cancel their course registration ten (10) or more days prior to the start date of the course will receive a 100% refund of their payment and will not incur a cancellation fee. Students who cancel their registration six (6) to nine (9) days prior to the start date of the course will be charged a cancellation fee of fifty percent (50%) of the total cost of the course. Students who cancel their registration five (5) or less days prior to the start date of the course will be charged a cancellation fee of one-hundred percent (100%) of the total cost of the course.

BlueArc Cancellation Policy

BlueArc reserves the right to cancel a training course offering at any time. If BlueArc cancels a course, the customer will be notified at least fourteen (14) days prior to the start date of the course. If the payment has already been processed, BlueArc will retain the payment, and will register the participant for the next available course offering.

BlueArc assumes no liability for travel or related costs incurred by a student as a result of the cancellation of a class.
