Peter Johnson has substantial experience in both retailing and technology. He began his career in 1969 with IBM in Australia and in 1979 he became the CIO and a Corporate General Manager of the Myer Emporium Limited, a large retailer in Australia.
In 1985 he founded PRJ & Associates, Inc. (PRJ), an enterprise software company that specialized in merchandising and related financial systems for medium to large-scale retailers. IBM invested in the Company in 1988 and used it as their primary channel in the retail industry worldwide. The investment from IBM and the Myer family enabled PRJ to establish an international presence and expand PRJ's software offerings to include private label credit, and establish QuickResponse Services, Inc. (QRS), a leader in electronic commerce. Peter was PRJ's Chairman and CEO from its inception through the time it was sold in May 1993. Peter was also QRS' Chairman and CEO from its inception in 1988 through 1993. QRS went public in 1993. From 1994 though May 2002, he served as Chairman of QRS.
Apart from his responsibilities at QRS, from 1994 through 2002, Peter also provided capital and management guidance to a number of technology companies in the UK, Atlanta, Dallas and San Francisco. These companies were principally focused on the retail industry and/or supply chain management.
Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, where he studied Economics, Finance and Law.
