Asigra Partners with BlueArc to Deliver Solution for Remote Office Backup and Recovery
TORONTO, ON - September 26, 2007
Asigra Inc., the technology leader in agentless backup and recovery software for remote and branch office backup and recovery, and BlueArcŪ Corporation, a leader in scalable, high-performance network storage, today announced a joint offering that will provide what we believe to be one of the industry's most powerful solutions for multi-site backup and recovery. The combined offering includes high-performance disk storage with agentless remote site backup and recovery software production hardened by years of global deployment.
The integration of Asigra Televaulting with BlueArc's high performance unified network storage solutions, provides rapid remote site backup that leverages advanced storage technologies. Organizations plagued by the challenges of tape-based remote site data protection now have a high-speed backup and recovery solution configured for large distributed enterprises, with features that include an agentless architecture for non-intrusive deployment and operation, global de-duplication, continuous data protection (CDP), and high-level data encryption in-flight and at-rest for secure and compliant storage. The disk-based data protection offering provides rapid recovery times in the event of system downtime and allows for the bare metal recovery of important enterprise applications in addition to data if recovery is necessary.
Unlike other offerings, the solution's pricing scales based on the amount of data protected, rather than the number of servers, desktops and laptops. This pay-as-you-grow pricing model ensures that all systems on the network are protected in the event of data loss and that growing organizations only pay for the actual de-duplicated and compressed data that is backed up.
"As a leading provider of websites and web services for small businesses and consumers, we need to provide the highest levels of uncompromising performance and data protection for our customers," said Vikas Rijsinghani, Chief Technology Officer at Web.com."To ensure top-line performance, we have implemented a highly scalable Titan 2000 storage system from BlueArc, and for data protection, we use Asigra's Televaulting. We are pleased that these two critical vendors are working together to ensure product integration and support."
In a 2007 research report by the Enterprise Strategy Group entitled, Branch Office Optimization, the top three priorities for enterprises with numerous remote and branch offices included removing IT infrastructure, controlling IT headcount and consolidating IT infrastructure at ROBO locations. The report also listed the most"Urgent" priorities including the improvement of remote site security measures and ensuring compliance with government, industry or corporate mandates across distributed sites. The consolidated backup and recovery solution from Asigra and BlueArc targets these most pressing concerns while delivering the benefits of greater operational oversight and efficiency.
"Information stored in e-mail systems, databases and servers across the enterprise are too important to be left to the protective devices of days gone by. Not only is the cost and complexity of archaic tape-based solutions out of touch, but they simply lack the reliability, security and speed required by enterprises today," said Steve Daheb, senior vice president of marketing and business development for BlueArc."Asigra and BlueArc have answered the tough challenges in remote site data protection with single-pane management that provides a real-time pulse on the health of an organization's distributed backup infrastructure."
"By partnering with leading technology providers such as BlueArc, Asigra is helping organizations with the daunting task of building compliant and reliable backup environments," said Eran Farajun, executive vice president at Asigra."Companies adopting these solutions are not only safer and more in control, but also more efficient in terms of IT and financial resource savings."
Asigra Televaulting has been tested and certified for seamless operation with BlueArc's Titan unified network storage systems. On-demand support provides customers with a single point of contact for support issues. The BlueArc-Asigra joint offering is available today worldwide.
