availability features including NVRAM, data path protection, parallel RAID striping and
clustering. Robust replication and mirroring functionality is also available – at either the block
or file-level, locally or remotely, and synchronously or asynchronously.
Backup and recovery is also easier. Administrators can dramatically reduce backup windows by using advanced snapshot and mirroring. BlueArc systems can create up to 1,024 different snapshot views and mirror real-time data up to 100 km. Snapshots can also make frequent database copies for test and development teams, or for offline reporting systems.

BlueArc Data Migrator software automatically and transparently
migrates files (or whole department file shares) from one tier to
another when they cross key hard or soft thresholds. Multiple
views or instances of the same data can also be automatically
synchronized and replicated to other locations.
In addition, to meet audit or compliance requirements, data
integrity can be further protected by using BlueArc’s write-once,
read-only (WORM) files system. Support for standard security
measures like authentication with LDAP, the use of access
controls and popular anti-virus scanning software also reduce
risks of exposure.
